As part of its 25th Anniversary Celebrations the BLA will hold a special event in the House of Lords on Wednesday, 10th February 2010
This will not be a fund-raising event. The intention is to give BLA members an opportunity to get together in congenial and prestigious surroundings to celebrate our silver jubilee, to meet British parliamentarians with a close interest in Lebanon, and to raise the BLA's profile as an Association on good terms with the centre of political power in this country.
Please note tickets will be issued on a strictly first come first served basis.
As part of its 25th Anniversary Celebrations the BLA will hold a special event in the House of Lords on Wednesday, 10th February 2010. This will take the form of a Reception in the Cholmondely Room, by kind invitation of our former Chairman, Lord Eden of Winton, preceded by a briefing by Parliamentarians from both Government and Opposition parties on British-Lebanese relations as seen from the Parliamentary viewpoint. Amongst those who have indicated their intention to be present will be the Chairman of the All Party Parliamentary Group, Mr. Andrew Love MP, and the Chairman of the Conservative Middle East Council, Mr Hugo Swire MP, along with other Parliamentarians from both Houses of Parliament with a interest in Lebanon
The briefing will take the form of a short panel discussion with an opportunity for BLA members to put questions. There will also be opportunities for further discussion with Parliamentarians at the Reception which will follow.
The Executive Committee hopes that as many of our members as possible will attend this event. The tickets have been priced to reflect the actual cost of staging this event and we particularly look forward to welcoming you, in these magnificent surroundings, on the occasion of our 25th anniversary.
