FOR THE CHILDREN…
…Concert in aid of victims of the war on Lebanon

We are writing to invite you to a concert at St. John’s, Smith Square, London, taking place 7:30pm, on Thursday 16th November 2006. FOR THE CHILDREN is a charity event for the victims of this summer’s war on Lebanon. Funds raised from the concert will be sent to the Lebanese Red Cross via the British Lebanese Association.

Nigel Clayton and I will be joined by the actress Sirine Saba, who will be reading extracts from ‘The Prophet’ by Khalil Gibran at various points during the performance. I am delighted to have Sirine with us.

The evening will feature the world premiere performance of ‘Apres un Reve’ by Houtaf Khoury, who is flying from Lebanon to be with us. We are also playing an exciting Sonata by Australian composer Carl Vine, as well as vivid/charming/romantic works by Philippe Gaubert, Charles Marie Widor and Jules Mouquet. The leaflet is attached for your information.

The British Lebanese Association has blocked off 100 full premium price tickets which will be sold at £30 to maximise donations to the Lebanese Red Cross in Lebanon. Please quote BLA OFFER when you phone the box office. The St. John’s box office is 0207 222 1061.
