“I believe the concept of Factory summarises what Cinema should be, a dialogue between cultures that enrich human relationships and enrich our vision of the world.“ 8 film directors, 4 Lebanese film makers, 4 international film makers, 4 international producers. Four extraordinary films. Each a unique perspective on Lebanon, together a tapestry revealing the coming generation’s fears and hopes for their country. Factory is an initiative to nurture the emergence of new talent on to the international scene. It brings support and collaboration to young film makers to make films in their respective countries. Previous collaborations have been Taipei Factory, Nordic Factory, Chile Factory, South Africa Factory and in 2007 Lebanon Factory. The four shorts to be screened on the night were co-directed by young Lebanese film makers with co-directors from Bosnia Herzegovina, Switzerland, France and Costa Rica. Two of the directors are expected to be present for a Q&A. There will be live music by a Lebanese band and delicious Lebanese catering from the Cedar Restaurant will be served during the event. Help save the Cinema Museum! Without the support of you the public this unique building and collection of cinema memorabilia from the golden age of cinema will be lost forever.
