On 19 November 2010 The BLA celebrated its 25 years of
commitment to British-Lebanese cultural and
educational interchange with a day long programme at
the Banqueting House in Whitehall, part of which was in
the presence of The Prince of Wales. The programme for
this culminating occasion in the BLA's jubilee year was:
the book launch in the presence of HRH The Prince of
Wales, of the first volume of the Prince's Selected
Speeches translated into Arabic by Professor Suheil
Bushrui, entitled "Alamir Charles Yatahaddath", and
published by Alsaqi Books (Beirut, Lebanon) on behalf of
the University of Maryland.

The 2010 David Robert's Memorial Lecture, "Lebanon,
State of Denial" was given by Robert Fisk, Middle East
correspondent for The Independent. The British
Lebanese Association was delighted to have the eminent
journalist Robert Fisk, Middle East Correspondent for
The Independent Newspaper give the BLA 2010 Silver
Jubilee David Roberts Lecture on Monday 6th
September.

After a successful run at Sadler's Wells in 2003 with Two
Thousand and One Nights, The Caracalla Dance Theatre
returned to the UK for the 8th time with a production
supported by the British Lebanese to perform at the
London Coliseum in August 2010.
The show came with amazing theatrical special effects
and the participation of artists from Spain to China,
Zayed and the Dream showcases choreography from
across the globe. Culturally rich and dazzlingly
colourful, history met art in this wonderful production.

The British Lebanese Association (BLA) was proud to
present ‘LEBANON the Artist’s View II 1975-2004’ a
vibrant reflection of the New Lebanon, exemplifying our
contemporary art and promoting our artists.
As part of our efforts to promote the Lebanese cultural
heritage in the UK, we succesfully presented an
exhibition of Lebanese contemporary artists in London
at the Cork Street Galleries from 1–6 March 2004.

"On October 3rd 2011 for the first time in its 25
year existence, the Association held a fund raising
event in Beirut. The For a Brighter Future evening
was an historic occasion following on directly from
the Association's anniversary event the previous
November in London in the presence of HRH Prince
Charles. The anniversary in Beirut was in aid of the
Association's Scholarship Fund and the Arc en Ciel
Educational charity in Lebanon.
